Hey there! I’ve recently posted about some litter box training questions/problems. I think I’m slowly fixing that problem with some new mats. Last night, we had a new problem arrive. Our little baby boy, Jax, and my husband, king of our castle, are fighting over our only computer chair. Jax has recently found out that he loooooves my husband’s computer chair. It’s slightly high off the ground and is padded. Whats not to love, i guess? Well my husband works a ton, and when he is home, he wants to play on the computer. Sooo, lastnight when my husband lightly, pushed Jax off the computer chair. Jax began to circle around the chair. Then hops up in my husband’s lap. I said,”Awww he likes you!” and then Jax bites my husbands stomach/chest really hard!! Then hops down!!! How do I correct this behavior? Can they not share the chair? Any advice would be extremely appreciated!!!

**My husband has no relationship with either bun, I dont know if that detail helps or not. My husband is probably just an extra pair of feet walking around, to them.

When a rabbit bites like that, he is trying to be “top bunny”, and that is not acceptable.
Make sure that is he ever nips to get something, you don’t hit him, but instead squeal loudly. This is the sound other rabbits make when they are hurt, and will scare him and let him know it isn’t OK.
If you don’t want to do that, try thumping your hand on something next to him, or saying “no!” In a loud voice. Just make sure not to hit HIM or he will see you as the big bad monster. Also, be prompt. If he gets away with it for more then a few seconds, it will already be too late, and you will just have to wait.

I think it’s a little insensitive to your husband to expect him to share the chair if he doesn’t want to. Since it seems like this has only happened once, I’d just let it go.

If the behavior continues and MK’s suggestions don’t work, I’d shut the rabbits out of the room.

Us? (hubby included) – we just let the bunny have the chair. HA HA HA HA!

I’d probably buy the bunny a mini chair. lol Seriously though, I’d try to do something special just for the rabbit, a little soft area he can lounge on so there’s no “competition” …writing this as Lucky is laying on boyfriends side of the bed lol

All the suggestions are good, but I’m with Andi. What bunny wants, bunny gets. We too would let the bunny have the chair!

Sorry Mrs.HoneyBun, I hope you don’t mind that I’m adding this to your thread – but thought it was sorta appropriate? We watched the “bunny therapy” episode of ‘The Middle’ last night and it was hilarious! Long story cut short – the whole family ended up using the tiny/little ensuite bathroom because the bunny had the family bathroom! Hubby and I were in stitches and both looked at each other and agreed, what the bunny wants, the bunny gets! And the fact that they were covered in scratches, bandaids and bite marks just added to the ‘do not argue with the bunny’!
Our bunny Henry (same as JR) gets the chair! Ha ha ha ha ha….. good luck with that! (So funny!) Cheers.

PS – Why do you think my hubby sleeps in the spare bed calipa_st? Henry took over the hubby’s spot on the bed months ago!
