The first day she willingly licked it as I gave the panacur, but after that, she refused to eat it. Maybe felt sick after eating it the first time? I tried holding her by force, placing it in spinach but she just ate around it. It’s like she can smell it even if I fold the spinach to cover the panacur. Flipping her doesn’t work. The rabbit just won’t go into a tranced state and keeps struggling to escape.

Why are you giving her panacur?

Also you wouldn’t want to flip a rabbit over on their back to medicate them – you could aspirate them – since you don’t have the confidence to handle her and big rabbits can be difficult to hold, you are best to hide it in her food.

Vet said I should as a preventive measure. She’s finally ate the spinach! I piled some other leaves on top and under the leaf I covered with the panacur and folded up. She picked all the others except that one, but ate it half an hour later lol.

Maybe just give her initially the veggies with the panacur on it – luckily (if I remember correctly), it’s a thick pasty type medication. Then once she eats the greens with the meds you can give her the rest of the meds.

I have found that paste/gel medicines go well on a dried banana chip (the kind that is just dehydrated banana, not the sugary ones) with some rolled oats pressed onto the top. Liquid medicine I mix with plain unsweetened applesauce with a sprinkle of oats. Nessie hates everything the vet has ever sent home and even bunny burrito-ing it ends up with medication everywhere except in her mouth and a very angry bunny.
