I have an almost 2 year old female lop. She has had pretty much full range of my room ever since I can remember. Also, I am taking care of my sisters 2 hamsters for 2 weeks. I recently noticed (not sure if it has been since the hamster or if it started the few days before they arrived) my bunny chose a corner under my desk to use as her litter box rather than using her actual one in her cage. She has always used her litter box but now barely goes near it (ive seen her sit in it but she is certainly not using it). Initially the hamsters were in my room with my bunny, but after realizing how she was acting i moved them into a completely different room thinking they (as males) would be the issue, and semi confined my bunny into a circle gate i have placed around the front of her cage. she is still picking a selected area to do her business instead of her litter box. Since she has been out for so long im finding it hard to come to grips with maybe having to keep her in her cage till she starts using it again, but i want to explore all my options before it comes to that.

Any input would be greatly appreciated!! i really want my baby back to normal!!

Wow. I’m surprised no one has responded to this. I’m no expert on this and the others would likely be more helpful, but the first thing I wonder about is whether you can simply move the litter box to that area. Did you use a cleaner on the box that might have turned her off? Have you tried putting droppings/ paper towels into the box? Did this happen after the box was cleaned? Like, are there no droppings or anything in it? Or was she going in there and never started again?
I just had one bunny who didn’t like a clean litter box and would go on strike if I didn’t leave some droppings in the litter box…or if I didn’t leave ENOUGH droppings.

Have you tried moving the litterbox to her newly selected area as well? And I agree also with Megabunny, Bumpy will not use a “clean” box, if I thoroughly clean it, even dumping a few pooballs doesn’t work, he wants to smell his pee in it. I now just dump it and wipe out all the excess, but leave the stain. yech.

Also, any change in the litter you are using?
