Hey everyone, I’ve had flash for about 3 weeks not and I don’t think she knows her name, she doesn’t know what no means and she’s not very well litter trained. She knows she has to pee in her littler but she still poops in and out of her cage. I would love her to be a house rabbit but I need to trust her first and I do not right now. Any ideas on how I can improve this?

Is that her cage set-up in the photo? Does she have an actual litter box?

If you are doing the bedding all over her cage then that is the first thing to stop doing and just have a litter box – it’ll be easier clean up too for you and less confusing for her – that is the place to start.

It’s been 3 days that I have taken the bedding out, she still uses her litter box in the other corner of the cage but still poops in her cage. Is it possible that she’s just not used to her cage? Should I leave her there for a couple days and see? As for training her to learn NO and FLASH no progress I’m trying the clicker method and I don’t think she gets it. She’s always cleaning herself and doesn’t seem to care.

Does she pee in the litter box? Do you put hay in it for her?

My bunnies still poop all over the place too. Frodo, the lil bunnyboy, has more troubles with holding up his pee too. I read your bunny still needs to be spayed. Other members also told me that the pooping stops or is more controlled after spaying/neutering. At least that’s what I’m hoping for! I call my bunnies “little poopers” very often

She does pee in her box thankfully, although today after cleaning he cage she had an accident. I do add some hay in her box to encourage her

To help with the litter training, when you clean up “accidents” put the poop or paper towels into her litter box, it’ll help her recognize where she’s supposed to go.

You’ll be very happy once she’s spayed

                        Hi Ashley

How are you trying to teach your Flash her name and how are you teaching her the ‘no’ command?
Because I think that takes a lot of time. I hand feed my bunnies their daily pellets. They both sit next to me. Then I say their name and then give them a pellet. That seems to be working at the moment, especially for Arya.

                        good luck!

Thanks Ellekke! Going to try that tomorrow with her name!
