Hello – So we’ve only had our adopted bun for a few days, but tonight bun started the evening normally with a little running around and binkying. He had his dinner, nothing new in that, and then sat around hunched and not sprawled out like her has been laying. Then I noticed a few poops behind the chair he was hiding under, and he’s been laying kind of half sprawled with his back feet tucked under. I noticed him eating his cecals and then his otherwise perfect (even from the moment he came home) litter box went down the drain. It was only poop and not pee luckily. Just seems strange the way he’s been quieter than normal, and in hunched positions then the litter box issue (which was perfectly clean too). More fun – when I moved a clean one over to where he had just gone, he shoved it around and dumped it over.

Any advice or clues are appreciated!

It sounds like he has something bothering him. Is his stomach or bladder hard? He might have gas. If he doesnt improve or stops eating, you may want to take him in.

If he’s been with you only a few days, it’s my guess that he is simply marking territory. Is he neutered? I wouldn’t worry unless he stops eating or seems lethargic.

It can take awhile for rabbits in a new place to master the litter box. I can’t imagine the position you are describing but it sounds like he may just be relaxed.

Maybe describing the sphinx position (front feet out and back feet tucked under), which is I think is just a lazy relaxed meatloaf. lol Sounds as if he’s happy.
