Tank will hop in his litterbox, then pee with his butt still hanging over the edge, not making any of it in the box. Any theories? It’s plenty big enough.

          I’ve had that problem!

I think it happens when the sides of the litterbox aren’t high enough (or if there’s litter piled up in such a way that makes it shallower).

I cut down the side to make it easier for him to get in it in the first place.

            -falls over-

at this rate I’ll have to switch to a wire- bottom

Bindi does that sometimes too, even though the box is big enough. Not sure why that is. Frustrating, though!

Oh gosh ZS! Just like a man that misses the WHOLE bowl available to him and still gets some on the floor! Very frustrating!!!!!! No solution from me (YET???). SORRY!

Just thought I’d share this with you, on the chance you haven’t already thought of it or tried it (sorry if you have). I have Henry’s ‘cat’ litter (rectangle) tray inside his carrier. Because the tray fits snuggly inside the carrier and the carrier is enclosed (no extra room to move on the sides), I’ve never had a wee outside his toilet. Again, sorry if this is dumb – just thought I’d throw it in on the chance???? Cheers ZS!

hhhmmm a covered litter box might be an option as Andhenry said. All I have to say is that Albert does that when I put too much litter or hay in his box. Then he is standing too high. I make sure to just put a small amount of litter in it now and it is better. Though that actually means he kicks more litter out of his box upon hopping out as nothing is weighing it down..but I’ll take that over the alternative. Good luck ZS!
