do baby bunny’s growl? my 9 week old Bella just….growled? I’m not sure….it sounded like a snorting pig with asthma! hahaha her favorite thing is when she gets her handful of alfalfa hay in the morning and before bed at night. She always has timothy 24 hours a day in her kennel but she gets alfalfa as a treat/for nutrients she needs. I think shes getting used to it because I just went to giver her some and as my arm went over her head she stood up on her back legs and growled?? Was she just excited? She just turned 9 weeks and loves being held and scratched on the head ect friendly as can be and isn’t at the sexual maturity stage yet…(dreading that ) so was that an ” I’m so excited! Mom’s giving me alfalfa, I cant contain myself” or is she trying to be aggressive? anyone else have a baby do this? Now Im holding her and she’s falling asleep

Oh yeah, my Monkey growls all the time! It’s kind of a game with her these days.. she’ll growl, run around in a circle, binky, and growl at us again.

          She’s a unique one, Monkey…

Smudge growls when she gets excited at dinner time, to get Monkey out of her way. So it can be an excited/aggressive thing too.

Oh yeah totally normal. Lulu will growl when we play and at unknown men or little boys. I’m not too sure why she will only do it to boys and not girls, but oh well. She did it a few times to my dad even when he would feed her but that was long ago and hasn’t done it for years to him. It is quite the funny little noise though, isn’t it?

It’s normal and it’s funny/cute!  I have one that “oinks” when she gets excited (dinner time) and growls when she thinks something bad is going to happen (trio bonding time).  I just heard my other girl growl for the first time the other day.  At first we thought her stomach was making a soft gurgling sound and then we realized she was growling!  It was so cute and so fitting — she’s a dainty little bunny and it fits that she’d have a dainty little growl!

Nessie used to make a lot more sounds before she was spayed. She will still charge at me and make a growling sound that I think sounds like someone blowing their nose or snorting. She used to make little squeaky grunts when she got erm… “excited” and we knew we better get out of the way if we didn’t want her to try and mate with our feet/arms/etc. Once she was in “the mood” even if we tried to calm her down by petting her or distract her with some choice lettuce she would still be squeaky and grunty (quiet squeaks). I was really surprised because none of my other bunnies made sounds like that!
