My bun got spayed just over two weeks ago and everything seemed to be going pretty well, but tonight she’s starting chewing at her stitches. The vet said if this happened to bring her back in and they’d try to fit her with a cone but she just started doing this within the hour and it’s 11 PM so I can’t exactly bring her in right now. Is there anything I can do? I’m trying to distract her from chewing on them but I can’t stay up all night to do this. So frustrating.

Some people have done at home covers with shirts / onesies wrapped around their bellies so they can’t reach the stitches. Or if you have the material it is possible to make a cone.

My vet uses internal dissolving stitches, so there was nothing for mine to chew at, he said too many of his bunny patients had that habit. Hope you can find a way to stop her chewing at them until the vet opens. Silly rabbits.

Sorry guys! I forgot to subscribe to email notifications for this one so I forgot to check it. She stopped chewing on them pretty soon and it’s completely fine now. Thanks for the help!
