I’m not sure why but all of a sudden my bunnies are obsessed with food and nothing else. They get hay unlimited but I find I am going through a bag rather quickly these days. They get fresh vegetables at lunch time and 1/4 pellets in the morning and at dinner time.

When I let them out to play they wont explore or run or play they just sit next to me and sniff me like they expect food (given i am there sole food provider I see they may associate me with food but there is no one else to feed them).

They bite at my pockets and  jump up on my plate even when I’m eating things like chicken which they obviously shouldn’t eat and try and steal my food. I’m worried with this food obsession they are both going to get fat.

        Does anyone have any tips?

How old is he?? Did you just switch his food over and what kind of rabbit is he?? You may be able to feed him more if he is a bigger breed. Are they free range rabbits?? Because free range rabbits could get more food.

Pellets are limited, so you shouldn’t be going thru anymore than normal. Once the pellets are out for the day, that’s it until the next day. If they are eating hay fine, you might try increasing their veggies if they still seem hungry.

I don’t think they’ll get fat on more hay and veggies. They sound fun!!

I would just keep giving them hay and increase the veggies a little. I find mine always act hungry and excited about food, but that’s just how they are.

Always more hay. Pellets will make them gain weight if you feed too much. Veggies, especially leafy greens are good too, should have that near 2 cups per day, about 1/4 cup of pellets (more or less depending on the size of the rabbit) and free choice hay.

If the problem is when the rabbit is out and about, toilet paper tubes stuffed with hay laying about can provide nibbles as well as toys for the rabbit.
