So my 9 week old holland lop was being my little helper while I cleaned her kennel out and I thought nothing of it when she wanted to smell the scooper….it’s a little dust pan/scooper sort of thing that came with a tiny hand broom that I got to sweep up her poop. She always wants to smell it then moves on. She isn’t a big chewer or anything so she was sniffing it and I put it up to her to sniff and in about 2 seconds, so fast before I could even react she bit a piece off and swallowed it! I had NO reaction time it happened so fast and I couldn’t reach her to grab it from her mouth. Its a really soft cheap rubber, she chewed it up and swallowed about half an inch of it (if you were to trim your finger nails it would be the size of a nail clipping) so not a big piece at all but Im worried. Will she be ok? I don’t have a vet near me to take her to, my fiance said its a tiny amount so she will probably poop it out…I’m scared and feel like its my fault if she gets hurt from it

I think it’s too small a piece to hurt her. Just monitor her to see so she eats and poops normally over the next few days.

ok I will,I mean she didn’t sit around chewing it and chew off a big piece, she literally bit it straight down and took off a single chunk  basically the width of her two front teeth…pretty small I m just paranoid!!

              All bunny-mommies are paranoid! =)

My bunnies have eaten A LOT worse. Like half a rubber-ball, a 2×2″ piece of hot water-bottle, large chunks of a leather-bag. They weren’t babies though. I suspect babies are more sensitive. But the size of the piece she ate doesn’t sound alarming at all.
