My little Bun is 1.5 years old. He was so energetic and full of life, but in the last two weeks he has become noticeably inactive. It seems like he finds it difficult to sit down, so he is either standing on his feet or he is lying down. I don’t think he has GI issues because he is eating hays and veggies, and pooping and urinating normally. I think he is very weak due to fever. I don’t know what to do right now.I don’t have any vet in my city, so PLEASE HELP!

Why do you suspect a fever?

I think if he is eating, drinking, pooping and urinating then that is a good sign. As rabbits age they do become last active as their metabolism slows down, it’s not necessarily a sign of illness.

I would recommend though that you look for a vet in a nearby city because any animal who is ill needs to see a vet.

You really need to locate a vet who can give him a check up. If you can’t find an Exotics Vet (Many vets who specialize in birds also work with small animals) then call a local dog/cat vet and ask them to recommend the nearest specialist that works with rabbits. Even if he’s OK after all now, it is important to have someone ready that you can call in the future.
