Hello everyone, been a couple weeks! hope everyone’s well.

As I’ve mentioned before, Stanley’s housed in a 42×18 inch plastic bottom cage. It’s pretty long but in my opinion, not wide enough (if that makes sense)..

I’d really like to get him into a bigger cage. I also love the idea of a wire bottom cage but I personally don’t want him walking on wires all day. I just like it for easy cleanup. My vet recommended not doing it because she’s seen alot of sore feet.. My breeder said it’d be fine but I don’t feel comfortable with it. I guess I’m just asking if anyone knows a good type of cage and what website or store I can buy it at. I bought him a playpen and was hoping to move him in there perminately but litterbox training isn’t going so well.

Please never get a wire bottom cage, it is (as you said) extremely painful for the rabbit and can cause sore hocks.
I would not reccommend getting a store bought cage as in general they are way too small. Many members use dog playpens, or xpens, which are perfect for rabbits. What I use is modular cube storage panels, and I build an NIC condo which I love. BB has a housing ideas section in info if you would like to take a look.

Seconding LEL, NO wire bottom cages under ANY circumstances. Imagine yourself walking barefoot on suspended wire – 24/7. Not at all humane or comfortable! Apollo is in an NIC condo, I built myself for just over $170. I did have to pay $100 just for the grids though – I had to have them shipped into Australia. I know Americans and Brits can build condos for just under $100 or £120. Dog exercise pens (or xpens as they’re called) make very good homes, and you could even keep your petstore cage and attach an xpen permanently to the front, a little like a front garden!
