I wasn’t sure where to put this topic, sorry if it should be in habitats or somewhere else…
I just had the worst night sleep ever!

Teddy decided to become suicide bunny and jump up onto the top of his ex pen and then down into Luna’s
I woke up and for some reason looked over (thank goodness I did) and I saw the outline of Teddy in the darkness on top of the pen!
Worst feeling ever. Obviously they fought and I grabbed one of them and put them back where they’re meant to be. They are both fine, thankfully.

He must have jumped on top of his house to get there, so I’ve taken it away from him for now. As soon as I took it away he tried to jump out again (unsuccessfully) by just throwing himself up against the wall of the pen
I decided to leave his door open for the night so he’d stop trying to escape, but then a couple of hours later he got round the side of her cage (don’t know how cause it’s blocked off) where they started fighting again!

Ughhh. They were actually getting along better last week and not fighting! Sigh.
It’s really hard to relax like this. I have to go to work all day today, so I’m a bit worried. Stupid suicidal bunny.

As I typed this Luna just jumped out of her pen too! Thankfully not into Teddy’s though. Neither of them have ever done this ever before, this is nuts!  Teddy must be giving Luna bad ideas…

I think the only way to stop them doing it is to take away their hidey houses, but then I feel bad for taking that away from them, I know they need somewhere to hide and their pens are a bit empty without them.
But I can’t really leave it when they might escape or jump into the other bun’s house and kill each other, it’s such a risk when they fight like they do.  Any suggestions anyone?

OK, so Teddy is feeling much better? LOL! He’s a naughty boy! As you know, I have no idea about having 2 buns – just wanted to say I can’t believe Teddy was causing you grief the week before not being well, and causing you grief AGAIN by being cheeky! Poor Luna! Good luck with that Tessie! Cheers! Ha ha ha ha……

Edit/ADD – I stole Teddy cause he is super cute and HUGE! But I think I might return him – he’s a troublemaker! To save me breaking your window frame again getting him back in, would it be easier if you leave your door unlocked? Ta Tess.

Some rabbits are escape artists, and others will learn from them, all too quickly. You may need to put tops on the pens to prevent the escapes or only have one at a time out when you can supervise them.

I use window screen for pen tops, it comes in rolls and is easy to make a top out of, just use the screen and zip ties. It’s flexible so, you can still fold the pen if you need to.

Thanks for the ideas and support guys! I’ll definitely look into getting covers for them!
