        Hello!

My bunny Binky is usually a delight. Hes very active and runs free around my room but has a house where his litter and food are. Sometimes though I find a few days go by where he hides under my bed. In the exact same spot. He does come out to eat and drink but then returns to his hiding spot. Typically he soon returns to his normal bouncy self but I’m growing concerned. Could this be a puberty thing? He’s around a year and a half. I’m just wondering if bunnies sometimes need alone time, or if its due to weather or hormones or if I’m doing something wrong :s thanks for listening

Do these days coincide with a stressful activity? like a lawn mower or vacuum cleaner going? Or is it warm where you are? If not, he may just need some by himself time. The puberty could be a possibility as well.

He spends all day there? Or just some of it?

My bunny has her favourite spot under my bed where she likes to chill, she’s not there all day, but quite a lot of it. She naps there and hangs out.
If he’s not there all day and is just relaxing then I wouldn’t worry.

It sounds like a perfectly normal bunny to me. Hurt animals may very well withdraw so no predators will spot them and eat them, but if he’s not displaying any signs of sth wrong with his health, I shouldn’t worry.

Although I have found myself poking a too-lazy bunny to see if he’s sick or dying or sth =/ Worrying is a big part of bunny-ownership =)

i found that my buns like hiding spot, like behind and under the couch or places no one can reach. i have made such a spot in their cages but when they are out I provide empty boxes so they can go in and hide. they also like tunnels and such.

As long as he is healthy and examining him shows nothing amiss, I wouldn’t worry.

My BB does that, she is bouncy and into everything most of the time but, about once a month she decides to take a BB day and hide under my desk all day, usually she goes with a mouthful of hay and expects me to put a small water dish under there for her. She hides out, eats her hay, drinks her water and, about super time, comes hoping happily into the kitchen to watch me cook. She just wanted a “me day” away from the other rabbits and, away form me petting her.

Some rabbits need alone time now and then and, they will take it.
