How much time should I spend with my rabbits a day? They have free roam of my basement all day and night.

I think it’s based upon how much time you can spare. I don’t spend too much time with my rabbits – wish I could spend more but they are fine. You have to live your life and do what you need to do. There isn’t a set amount of time listed anywhere saying what you should do :~) It’s really more what can you do.

The time I spend with my boy is up to him. Dam! If it were my choice – 24/7! ha ha ha! Henry is free range, so ‘he’ gets to chose our time together (I knew I did it wrong??? Lol!). On a serious note – as much as you can spare. I’ve read that a few BBer’s are time poor, and some of the solutions have been, instead of sitting at the desk on the computer, they take the computer and sit on the floor with their bunny, and just about anything/everything else that is bunny friendly. I take it from your post you have more than 1? I think that makes a big difference as to a lone bun. As I understand it, bun’s appreciate company. From who? My dog’s went to the groomer’s for a day and my Henry fretted. If I leave the house – I’m sure he say’s ‘who was that that chick’????? Ha ha ha….. But just cause your bun’s have company with each other, I’m sure they adore your company just as much too. So as much time as you can. Cheers bunbunlovers.

I try to spend 2 hours a day with my buns when they have free range time. That can be difficult, though, since they are unbonded and that takes up 4 hours of my day.

I agree that it depends on how much you can give them. We used to spend a couple hours home in the evening while the bunnies were running around, but they ddn’t necessarily want us to interact with them. Now that we have the dog we spend less time with them, but they don’t mind.

It’s my priority when I wake up in the morning to let them out to play and I’ll “eat breakfast” with them. If I’m home for majority of the day, I let them out at different intervals for half hour to an hour each time. Any longer and they begin to abandon their potty habits. When I’m gone and I come home, first thing I do is let them out and spend time with them. I miss them all the time!! It helps that I live in a small place. When I lived at my parents house, the bunnies lived in my room and I sadly didn’t give them as much attention as they deserved.

I spend about 3 hours with mine every other day. OFr em it’s every day but, since all of mine can’t be out together, it’s every other day for them. I let the ones that are supposed to be out for that day out and they decide if they want to interact with me or just do their own thing for a while. I have too many to give them free run all of the time – I’d never stop cleaning up after them if I did.

I work from home so, it isn’t too hard to let them come “help” me for a while.

*Note that help form a bunny usually involves the bunny running off with something you need, paper, pencil, the computer mouse, your cell phone or, untying your shoes because bunny thought the pink laces were good toys. LOL.
