I have just moved into a house that has base molding (it’s kind of like crown molding but between the bottom of the wall and the floor) and I am wondering if anyone has suggestions about how I could bunny proof it, other than putting a pen around it or the grid shelving?

        Thank You

Are you looking at bunny proofing it in every room?

Ive often thought overlaying it with PVC skirting (baseboards) might be a option but I imagine that could get expensive fast.

Sometimes I consider using pine board in front of the skirting. Might not look attractive but safe for rabbits to chew and protects the actual skirtings.

There’s always things like bitter spray or gel but I know of rabbits that like the stuff so…

Someone in here said cinnamon oil works as a deterrant for theirs.

Is your bunny going for it? Not all rabbits are interested in baseboards, but many are. There’s not really a lot you can do (other than blocking it) unless he is under constant supervision when he’s out and you can direct him to something else.

Not sure how the house is set up, but can you limit him to certain areas and just bunny-proof those rooms?
