        Hello Bunny Lovers,

Our Rabbit Chloe had to be taken to the emergency vet on Valentines Day because she got into my son’s chocolate and ate enough to make me worried. They gave her fluids and kept an eye on her all night. Since she got home she seems a little off. She now has decided to start chewing the carpet in our family room. We adopted Chloe in December (she’s a 2 year old flemish) and she NEVER chewed the carpet before going to the vet. In fact my husband and I were so impressed that all she would chew are her sticks (to which I’m running low on and have to get more). Any thoughts on this new strange behavior? I don’t want her to chew the carpet in fear it will get into her intestines. Our previous rabbit Moxie was more of a chewer and digger when she was a baby. We like to have Chloe free roam when we are home and I hate for her to be in her pen all the time.

        Thoughts?

Hmm, seems any hyper activity would have worn off by now. I know certain chemicals can cause a racing heart and “hyperactive” activity. Has anything else happened? Perhaps it is “emotional” damage from being traumatized? Just a thought. Are you able to corral her until she calms down? Sometimes all it takes is making whatever it is inaccessible for awhile and then they forget about it.

Well I just bought her a bunch of new willow sticks and balls and she’s been going at them like crazy!! I’m wondering if she was just craving something to chew because she was out. Bored bunny is the devils playground lol.
