I got Cookies from a breeder and I have no idea how to make homemade toys from stuff besides cardboard carrots with sisal around the carrot and hidey houses. He loves these but seems to get bored them after a little bit. Any ideas on easy to make toys from excess things like lonely socks, cardboard and stuff?

He is 3 months old so I can’t stuff anything with fruits, veggies, or Timothy Hay but I can do stuff with Alfalfa Hay.

My bunny loved it when I would take an empty toilet paper roll or paper towel roll and stuffed it with something. You could use alfalfa hay! I would just set it in his cage and he would roll in around and eat the hay, well when he got some out. The point is for them to work to get it out; it makes them think about it more and keeps them busy! I hope this helps!

I just made a thread where I will post tutorials every week for homemade toys. I have it posted one so far, but you might want to try it out.

My rabbit actually seems to really have a thing for paper plates (I noticed whenever I was eating on the floor she would try to grab my paper plate and run off with it). So I took 5 or 6 and folded them in half and set them up like little tents all around and she pretty much destroys them as fast as I can set them up. Knocking them down and throwing them. She’s like a fluffy Godzilla destroying a village. Just an idea. She’s not so hot on paper towel rolls or toilet paper rolls, or even really her store bought toys, but paper plates she can’t get enough of.

Sorry it look so long to reply! And I love your idea. Cookies likes trying to take stuff away from me. Toys, cups, everything!

                      Hi,

Just wanted to say that my rabbit’s name is very similar to yours. My rabbit’s name is Cookie.

My bunny looks like yours! It’s just that he has orange-ginger colored spots, not dark brown or black.

Cookies destroyed that thing but I have no more sisal.  Anymore suggestions without sisal or any type of string?

Have you checked out the rest of the TOYtorials I have posted?
Some of them don’t require sisel.

Yes, I have. He destroyed the Eiffel Tower and when I had sisal he pretty much destroyed the carrot, too.

This is a toy that Cookie really liked. It is really easy to make and requires no sisal. By the way, check out this person’s channel when you have a chance. She has great videos!
