So I just found out about the World Pet Expo and I may be a bit in over my head, since  I volunteered myself to be their rabbit advocate!! I need some help with ideas to pull this together by this weekend, any companies you think might want to work with me for displays/visuals etc, help me brainstorm!

Are you going to have a booth or area to have stuff on display? You could have an “ideal” house rabbit habitat set up.

I like LBJ’s idea – maybe an x-pen with a litter box and the correct diet for a rabbit – the hay, the veggies, the pellets. Also some toys and hiding places. Maybe if you have a wrong rabbitat you can display that with the wrong things like pellets with stuff in them (pizza, peanut butter LOL – you get the idea :~) I hope.

ooOooo yes, both ideas are great. Ideal and wrong (pet store cages!!) And pictures with rabbits interacting with other species!! Like dogs and cats, so that people with other pets won’t automatically write off getting a rabbit because they already have other pets.

A pretty poster covering common rabbit misconceptions:

Rabbits are boring. (Not at all! A rabbit that gets attention and room to play is a fun, interesting pet to interact with.)
Rabbits are an easy, low maintenance pet. (A rabbit has many of the same needs and issues as a very social cat.)
Rabbits are inexpensive to take care of. (lol)
A pet rabbit’s main food is grain from the store. (Not quite, unless you want a fat rabbit like my Liam.)

                etc.

                  Good for you S&LH !

                  I think there’s some printable info on HRS. ( http://rabbit.org/articles/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/ShelterRabbitAdoptionHomeCare.docx )
                  Also make mine chocolate organization.

Perhaps contact companies like Oxbow or American Pet Diner to see if you can get pamphlets and sample products.

Be good to show varieties of hay as many think Timothy is only hay rabbits can have.

Even contact big name pet stores to see if can loan suitable habitats for display. They might even be represented at the event so might be happy to be promoted at more then one site. I believe some of the well known stores now advocate rabbit adoption and work with Rescues.

Some photos or video on a portable advice of things like Agility groups or Hoppy Hour would attract some interest.

How about contacting some of the organizations that host Bunny Expo type events and pick their brains for more ideas?

I have millions of ideas! But here’s a tip: just don’t make it suuuupper overwhelming. Try to stick to one topic, like proper housing, why it’s better housing bunnies indoors, or common misconceptions about rabbits, like caudex said.
Are you good with making posters? If I were you I’d have posters on hand.
Like some downloadable PDFs or something like that. Here are some good posters.(links)

Good luck! If you can, update us on what you did/how it went. (:
