› Forum › THE LOUNGE › Models needed! UPDATED with STUDENT paintings!!
Edit: Look at what all my awesome students did last night! Most of these lovely ladies had never painted before and they rocked it!
No, not male models, though that wouldn’t be a bad idea either (don’t tell husband! LOL!)
I am an artist and I host painting parties at a local studio (you know the kind where you go, learn how to paint a picture, and drink lots of wine? Yeah, those )
Anyway, I was thinking that it would be fun to do a bunny for my April party. You know, since they are often a symbol of spring?
I would love some photos of your buns, preferably a close-up of their cute faces! Who doesn’t want to paint a bunny?!
If you would love to send some inspiration my way I would greatly appreciate it!!
Thanks!!
Kate (and Albert, though stinker won’t ever let me get a decent picture of him, hence this post)
I would love it if you painted my bunnies! I have a really cute pic of Bella Peeking out of a hideyhouse, I don’t know if it will work though. I will post it soon.
Thank you so much! Can’t wait to see it.
That’s so cool Kbana! Well, if you wanna paint Chester, here he is
Oh my goodness! What a great pic! thank you!
This is my bunny Trixie! He always gives me inspiration for photos, so I hope he gives some to you as well!(:
Is this close enough for you?
Nala is more photogenic than Duchess, she loves the camera, while Duchess is normally hiding from it, but here’s a few photos.
Well, be glad you have these photos, because I’m stealing the buns.
Here’s kind of a cute pic of Yohio. He’s fatter now, though.
These are awesome!!! Thank you! Bunny Daddy, that last pic…what can I say? Totally reminds me of Axl Rose circa 1990!
Great pics everyone!
BunnyDaddy, a bunny dutchess with bangs, I’m in total awe. What products do you use? Salt-water spray, mousse or perhaps classic hair-spray? She’s got that wind-in-the-hair-look that’s so coveted in America’s Next Top Model.
Firstly – can I come to your class? I promise not to drink ALL the wine?!?!? I have to say – all the pic’s are great, but gee BubblesJo, that ‘picture’ of Chester is so cool, it should be on a calendar! (and bam – that’s why I stole your Yohio!). I’m assuming you have a few paintings of Albert? Can you post one on this thread for us to see? Please!!!!!!! (or do you need him back after I stole him too so you can paint him? Not sure I can do that….).
I would love to add a pic of Henry for you – but I don’t know how to post photo’s on the forums? Bugga! Make sure that you show us the paintings when they are finished Kbana – I would LOVE to see them! Cheers Kate.
PS – Don’t wait for LEL to post her photo, as I think you know, she can take days?????? LOL!!!!!!!
And my son (youngest) paints/draws too – if I ever learn how to post a photo on the forums, I’ll take a pic of one to show you.
Here’s #1, I’d be honored for you to paint my little man! I’ll post picture number two in just one moment!
So that’s him. I tried to give you a few different angles and things so you have some different perspectives!
I want to come to your class too! I would love to learn how to draw/paint bunnies!
Olivia is very photogenic and I may be biased but I think she’s a beautiful model.
And I love this pic of Bindi because you can really see how beautiful his eyes are.
LPT – Bindi loves to hide huh? Pic + siggy! Cutie pie! (:
He loves blankets. If I put a blanket on him, he will lay down and be willing to snuggle for hours.
Oh my I love these! It will be so hard to pick. Maybe I’ll have to do a hybrid painting…everyone’s buns all rolled into one painting! ha ha. Yes! You can all come to my class. Just fly to Chicago and bring all the wine you can carry! Oh and the buns, bring the buns!
Pascal Says;
“Paint me like one of your french bunnies”
I’ve always loved this one of Luna
This is one of my favourite pics… Pepper in the middle, husbun Piglet behind and Pipi and Blossom in front. The space at the back is reserved for Nermie De Nomnoms who will one day be rebonded with her family.
I wish I had a decent picture of Lulu. She is so hard to photograph because as soon as you get eye level with her she just runs up to me as if I had a treat or was going to rub her ears. Most of the pictures I get of her are of her butt;P
I love those painting classes! They’re a flashback to the arts ‘n crafts sessions we had in elementary school.
I’m WOWED at BubblesJoes pic of Chester – that would just be an amazing painting!
I don’t have a lot of good pictures of the buns right now. Our camera cord was DESTROYED by some bun-struction and we have to buy a new one. I have a picture of my ‘baby’ Charlie….he died several years ago. I still had Min, she was about 3 or so. He’s a dark gray Flemish Giant. Miss him…(audible sniff)
I’d be honored if you chose him as a model for your painting. (I’m sure he would too! )
Wasn’t sure which pics to decide on but here are a few of my favorites of Sally (the lop) and Harley (the harlequin) so I’ll let you decide
And of course, them together lol
Awe! The last picture of your bunnies relaxing together is ADORABULZ, @NewBunnyOwner123!!
Sorry – bear with me, I am trying to post a photo……?
Edit/ADD – (3 hours later….) NUP! No luck – all’s I managed to do is frustrate the hec out of myself. Is it too early for a wine? What time is it there? (It may be a little too early still in Aussie time???). Cheers/clink!
Oh my gosh I am dying!! All this bunny cuteness overload! I LOVE THEM ALL!!!!!!
here is a rexy Liam face for you, with Bunny Feets!
@Kbana, be sure to show us the painting! Squee! So excited!
I will! I will probably get into the studio some time in March to prepare for April. Maybe by the end of this month…we shall see.
Newbunnyowner123, is the markings on Harley the norm for that breed? I don’t know much about harlequins, but Harley reminds me of Two-Face! Lol, you know from Batman? Haha sorry nerd moment but seriously, love him! And your Sally is pretty darling
Yeah it’s the standard markings for a harlequin rabbit. Some don’t have it. But the harlequin rabbits are usually strictly judged by their markings. That’s where most their points come from when being shown lol. I love his face
He didn’t have enough body bands to the breeders liking so she offered him to me and he thanks you for the compliment.
Harlequins are the most difficult to breed because the markings need to be so distinct and opposite on each facial half and one ear. My Yohio has very weak markings, maybe that’s why he was discarded. A perfectly marked harlequin looks like a bumble-bee =) Both your bunbuns are lovely to look at.
By the way, when is there going to be a picture-thread with ugly bunnies in it? =)
Aw, I’m sad now. I got curious and put “ugly rabbit” through Google search to see if such a thing existed. Most of the rabbits that came up were sick or hurt
Oh no, Diamond =(
I didn’t mean it like that. I meant that the likelyhood of there being any ugly bunnies anywhere must be extremely low. Kind of like UFOs. Some people claim they’ve seen one, but if you scratch a little on the surface, you’ll find that it probably wasn’t a UFO (or ugly bunny) after all.
I won’t google it because it’s too sad =(((
Aww a painting of Simba would be AWESOME*!
Especially for keepsake from his “baby” months
Well I definitely want a harlequin now haha! It is sad that people can be so picky about markings when it comes to breeding. I get it but it’s sad when the bunny doesn’t look perfect they get tossed aside

Ah bunny cuteness! Don’t hate me if your bunny doesn’t make the cut. LOL. I have to consider the ease in which I can teach the painting so some images may be easier than others. But I Love them all!! I dare say they might be the cutest animal on the planet!
Ahhh cuteness overload on this thread!!
My entry lol
I agree with BunnyLady about NewBunnyOwners harlequin – I saw the picture of your harlequin in profile, then the second one was him staring head-on! Such a surprise there! Reminds me of a cat with one orange side of her face and one black. (:
Edit/Add: Oh, and AndHenry, Importing pics is really easy.
You have to click on the blue and green “Reply” button, because Quick Reply won’t work for pictures.
Next, once you are on the page, you find the Attachments tab on the bottom. Click on the side arrow on the right side of the tab.
In the tab that you will open up, it will have a Choose File button. Click it, then pick a photo from your computer. (Double or triple click the pic to select it)
Next, click the big Upload blue button. Click on Insert Image.
There you go!!
THANKS DB! I think I got that bit???? But it says my pic’s are toooo big – so I am now trying to work out how to downsize them? In any case I haven’t given up (I will go crazy (literally) before I do), so Kbana, ‘IF’ I manage to post a picture – Henry better be one of the one’s you seriously consider!!!!! ha ha ha ha ha……
AndHenry, are you using a Mac or PC? You should be able to open the photo like normal and in the viewer you should be able to go into “edit” or “tools” and edit size, from there you can reduce it by a percentage until its small enough. (Ok, so that might have been really confusing…lol)
Your such a ‘smarty pants’ Katie – ha ha ha ha!!!!!! But seriously – ‘thank you’! My son has the day off work today and I booked him in to spend 5 minutes with me (eeek – 5 minutes hanging out with his mother???) and hopefully he can guide me through the process and point out what I am doing wrong? (Dam kids being computer clever – so annoy’s me!) LOL! Um, anyhow, I am using a laptop with Windows 7 – but my son has a Mac. I hope he can show me on my mine so I can do it myself in future. Watch out everyone if I can!!!!!!!! Your forums are gonna get bombarded with Henry pic’s! Ha ha ha ha ha…… Ta & cheers Katie.
PS Katie – trust you to pick ‘that’ picture of Holly (above) – showing off her ears!!!!! Ha ha hah!
Here’s Ellis. He’s a black Silver Marten, so his coloring and lines are pretty easy to follow. I can’t draw to save my soul, but I’ve done some self-satisfying doodles of him in boring meetings, so he might work for your newbie art class. The second picture is from when we first brought him home in May, when he was about 6 months old. It shows the Silver Marten coloring pretty well, in spite of the red-eye.
Personality-wise, we characterize him as “insouciant”. Definitely his own person.
Oooops! Sorry – try again…..
I DID IT!!!!!!!!! (yes, my son helped me – no crazy farm for me!)
SO, what do you think Kbana? A contender????? ha ha ha ha…..
Cheers!
Andi! Funniest thing ever! Totally laughing out loud! ha ha ha ha ha!!! Bunnybutt!!!!
And it only took me a week! Oh, and my sanity!!!!!!! Thanks Kbana! I so needed you to love it! (made it all worth while!) Cheers!
Ha ha ha ha ha…….
Andi, when I saw your pick it totally reminded me of one of Al! Here it is!!<img src="data:
Kbana! I can’t see it!!!!! Again – just a little box with the cross in the middle WHY????? Hang on – my son is still home, I’ll grab him! BRB!
OK!!!!! He just got me to sign in using Google Chrome – and it worked! I need to change the browser I am using????? Doh!
Love it Kbana! Best bunny pic ever!!!!!!! (Are our guys related????). Lol!
PS – now I can go back to your last forum and see the pic’s of Albert after taking his medicine. (Yay – I sooo wanted to see those!). Cheers.
ha ha I wondered why you could never see them!!?? Ha ha. Glad it worked! Yay!!! Totally similar bunnybutts. They must be long lost brothers.
Actually, just a thought…. next time, you should ask for the ‘best’ bunny BUTT pic’s – that would be so cool! LOL!!!!!!
Edit/ADD – I just booked my flight for Chicago and bought a suitcase to transport the wine and a toothbrush!
Oh, the bunny? You wanted that too? Ok, I’ll take the toothbrush out! I’ll let you know what time to collect us from the airport Kate! See you soon!
Bunny butts
Perfect BubblesJo! Sorry Kate, but your now gonna be inundated with bunny ‘butt’! LOL!!!!!!
That’s Ok. bunny butts are cute too! LOL
Bunny butts are the best!
Here is the pic I promised 3 pages ago…
Awww LEL I love it!!
Sneaking this one in for the sake of art…. Nothing Ka-Yute Here just some pre adolescent lagomorphs that would look good in water colour or pastels….. Don’t be ohhing or awwing or you’ll get me in trouble !!!!
Sorry Roberta, I must ooh and aww. There’s simply no way not to. I’m struck down by acute cuteness over-load.
I understand BUT if you must then mispell it so that people looking for der Ka-yute or Fa-luffy will not find on websearch 00000 or UUuuuuu or Aaaaaar or RRrrr
Ka-yute-nezz overload it is then =)
Rrrrrrrrrr! <3 I'm in love!!!
FINALLY! LEL, I don’t think I’ve ever seen you post a pic. (: love your beautiful baby. How can you tell who’s who? They all look alike.
Haha DaisyBunz, my lack of knowledge about picture posting and my rather busy life have left me not able to post pics often. I did just find an amazingly easy way to post pics, so I shall do so more often.
That pic is of my darling Bella bun who passed last December. Love her <3.
I really don’t know in the slightest how I tell my bunnies apart, them all being REW lionheads. Lionel is the largest and has the least amount of butt-tufts, while Asha is rather in the middle with size and puffiness. She has pointed ears, big eyes, and looks the most like Bella. Roxy is tiny and super fluffy, but she has more rounded ears more like Lionels.
Just in case you actually really care about telling my buns apart.
They look so lovely, LEL. I’m also wondering how Zombie-Sue tells her bunnies apart. I guess a mother always knows =)
I know a woman who has identical triplet daughters. Couldn’t tell them apart for the life of me. But from even a mile away she can discern them, I don’t know how. I don’t know what it is, you just know.
I think since bunnies are just like our babies, we really just know. Daisy and Russell are very similar, but its still so easy for me to tell which is which.
I don’t know, when you’re around certain animals every day, your brain learns to pick up on the subtle differences. There are several look-alikes where I work. Somehow I know who is who though. LOL
Oh killer cuteness!
Unfortunately, all my pics are on my profile page until I get time to upload some more XD
I really look forward to seeing the paintings, please upload them when theyr finished =D
Thanks Tsuki I will!!
Well here it is Overall, I’m happy with it. It ended up being mostly a hybrid of all your photos so thank you thank you thank you!!! I just love looking at cute bunny faces.
<img src="data:
Here is another that I did today. I won’t end up using it for the class as it was too complicated and layered for novice painters. But who can get enough of bunny smiles? <img src="data:
Those are two of the most beautiful bunny paintings I have seen ever – great job Kbana!
PS – Though I can’t see Henry’s ‘butt’ in there anywhere?????? Ha ha ha hah……
Oh Andhenry, I totally need to do a bunny butt painting! Not to worry! One day it will happen.
I’ll be waiting! LOL! Cheer Kbana.
Awwww…..your paintings are so cute! I love them!
They’re gorgeous
I love them! And the bow too! Eeeeeeeee! So cute!
Edit*
Great job Kbana!
Nice paintings Andi!
We have some talented people in these here forums.
Edit* (above)
Thanks MD! I’ll tell my son – he loves compliments on his art.
I posted my son’s art above as I promised you I would Kate but had a thought (no, it didn’t hurt, lol!) – everyone is going to revisit to see ‘your’ bunny painting’s and to compliment your beautiful work, no one wants to be bothered with anything that isn’t a ‘painted bunny pic’ on this thread! LOL! I’ve deleted them and will repost them to your ‘summer’ forum – with your other fantastic/gorgeous painting. Hope this is cool with you? Ta Kate.
Sounds good to me. I was so confused when I came back to this thread and didn’t see anything LOL!
I tried to add photos to my first post. I think it worked??? Anyway, I’ve added them here just in case…
Here is what my students did last night. They rocked it!!! Most had never painted before! <img src="data:

Awe! I want to be in your art class! All the paintings look great!
They turned out great!
LOL, Jersey! Bunny butts would have been fun! I can sort of see it in the painting in the middle (the pic you reposted).
Oh we totally said that when we were at that stage too!! So funny!!!! I really think everyone did a stellar job! There were a few nervous people but for the most part they were able to relax about half way through when they realized they could just paint over and area if they didn’t like it and try again! That is why I love acrylics. Fast drying and you can’t really make a permanent mistake!
What a great collection of paintings! I too wish I was a student of yours. They must’ve had so much fun!
kbana your paintings are great. Your class did great too.
