        Hi everyone!

I’m new to the forum but have had my bunnies for quite some time. I have two neutered male rabbits. Anja turned 7 in December and I have had him since he was supposedly 9 weeks old. My husband and I had him for a year and a half before finding out he was a male haha.  Took him in for a spay… well, he got neutered :p He’s still my little princess though.  I’m not sure of his breed – I was told he was a hotot mix (but I doubt the accuracy of that). He’s just barely over 2lbs.  Frank will turn 6 this spring and I have had him since he was about 12 weeks old.  He’s a solid black lionhead/lop mix (the lionhead bit doesn’t really show though).  I got Frank before I had done much reading about bonding (he was an impulse >.<) and before I found out Anja was a male. I tried to bond them after Frank was neutered and his hormones had settled, but it didn't work out so well.  It's been years now and I was thinking of trying to bond them again and wanted to do it right this time - and at the very least, enjoy reading a forum with other bunny parents.

I am also mom to an 8 month old sphynx (hairless cat) named Zoa who came home with me at 16 weeks.  I had hoped to give her lots of supervised time with the bunnies while she was still small, but unfortunately she had a pretty major eye issue (entropion which led to ulceration of both corneas) a month after she came home which has only recently healed up (she had to have surgery in December), and I just couldn’t take the chance of one of the bunnies injuring her.  She sees Frank all the time during the day though and seems to absolutely adore him. She nuzzles against his cage, enjoys watching him, and she’ll stick her arms in to poke him [without claws or any intent to hurt him], and Frank tolerates all this extremely well, and even stands up against the side of his cage when she leaves, as though he’s looking for her.  Frank used to be a very anxious rabbit, stomping all the time, but since she came into our lives he actually seems much more relaxed. She once reached in, pulled one of his ears out, and started grooming it haha.  Anja lives in a less cat-accessible environment right now, but Zoa has met him face to face several times and so far she chirps at him and grooms him. He doesn’t seem the least bit afraid of her. Zoa is an extremely outgoing but very submissive cat, and I hope this will help the process.

I look forward to reading about everyone’s bunny adventures, and hopefully learn more about bonding the two bunnies, as well as bonding them with Zoa. Thank you for taking the time to read, and here are some pics!

Yes, I’m gushing at your pic’s – but I have to laugh (not at you) your bun Frank – that’s one of my dog’s name, ha ha hah….. Sorry, the reason I find this so funny – the last couple of weeks I’ve come across every bun named the same as my family. Besides the dogs, one of my sons (no, his name isn’t Roger Rabbit, ha ha ha), my nickname that my hubby calls me and to top it off a BBer called there bunny’s humping toy my hubby’s name (NO, I still haven’t told him – even funnier!). I will tell him about ‘your’ cat though – he’s always wanted one (a cat), but I said no cause of the hair (?) – & yet idiot me has a bunny that moults 12 months of the year! DOH! Anja looks sooo little and ‘cute’! Your so lucky!!!!!
Welcome to BB – your gonna be a hit (especially with Frank (ha ha) in his little Santa costume) he he he he he…..
Hope to be talking to you soon on the forums hel. Cheers.

            Hi.

There are two breeds of hotot, blanc-de-hotot and dwarf hotot. Anja looks like a dwarf hotot, who doesn’t meet breed standards to me. He could easily be a dwarf hotot-netherland dwarf mix, or simply a dwarf hotot with poor makings. Possibly dwarf hotot-dutch mix, but I would expect him to be more than 2 pounds if that were the case. Very slight chance dwarf hotot-lionhead mix, though he shows no specific lionhead traits, mixing lionheads seems to be really popular these days; I see lionhead mixes everywhere.

Welcome! Very cute babies! There are so many threads on bonding, I’m sure you will find a lot of useful information here. Not to mention the expertise from the members, many which are multiple bunny bonded households. I hope you enjoy BB as much as I do!
