Exactly a year ago we brought our Buddy home from a rescue so we had a little bun party today

We went through quite a lot in that first year with Buddy but I don’t regret a single minute and I love my boy  I am so happy we got Hannah because we can see how much happier he is now.

To celebrate we gave Bud and Hannah lots of their favourite dried beetroot

I haven’t been on BB for a long time! To make up for it, here’s a bunch of the trouble buns. :3

Duchess loves boxes.

Duchess had been flopped beside Nala, but when I walked over to take a photo, she came to greet me.

Also, hay hat. Because Duchess liked to shove her face in the hay.

Goodness I haven’t been on here in ages.  But here is the fluffster.  She’s almost a year old now and still as bossy as ever.  I just got back from vacation and I think she actually missed me this time!  She was super cuddly and absolutely refused to let me do anything except pet and feed her the whole night ^^

Oh all these cuties.  I just love Buddy’s coloring, and omg, the princess tiara bunny, too funny.

 

So, I’m a photographer and have a home studio.  Brought my boys into the studio and after 30 seconds of trying to make them sit in exactly the right spot I decided to just let them run around and put some bananas in the middle to get them to come back when they were ready.  I took a ton more but these are the favorites

here’s pictures of my new rabbit, Rodan… got him Thursday, he was neutered this Tuesday! so I haven’t gotten many pictures of him. I hate the quality of my phone, it stinks…it’s old   The last photo is me trying to get the rabbits to enjoy each other. They had been fighting a lot but then they both flopped next to each other with Lucky in his ex pen, so I decided to feed them to see what happened and Rodan was happy to hang out with Lucky..Lucky was more like, who is this dude in my house?! lol

I’m REALLY enjoying this thread now that I’m on high speed.  I completely avoided it after accidentally opening it when I first came to BB while still stuck on dialup!  EXTREMELY painful, to say the least!  Everybody’s buns are SO ADORABLE!!  (is there such a thing as an ugly bun?)

So the new cat tunnel took awhile to adjust to, first there was avoidance, then a couple walks thru… followed by (3hrs later) angry thumping.  The bunny 500 around the pen today was a little scary with the added crinkling, got another thump for that, which was then followed by many failed attempts at redecorating!

 

Contemplation. Ho hum.

You’re right! Rodan looks like Oscar’s big brother! He’s doing okay with the tricks. What makes it difficult is the fact that the sight/smell of food scrambles his little brain. I have to time it just right in relation to his breakfast so that he’s not “starving” but still hungry enough to want to work for food.

GigglyPuff, she’s adorable… I’m relatively new to the rabbit world, I’m so proud that I ‘almost’ recognized her breed! I’m finding myself more and more attracted to the rex’s fur, so pretty!

Hey yeah, manic_muncher she’s a Velveteen Rex. I love her fur because the shedding is almost non-existent. And oh my gosh! I love the little tunnel you have 🙂
I got her one…but, she didn’t like it. It was to loud for her. Your baby likes eating raisins?

I have to make sure to move the food bowl out from under his head when I pet him; I’m afraid he’ll choke himself one of these days because he’s too busy enjoying pets to care that his head is hanging over the lip of the bowl

That’s hilarious! Sounds like he really enjoys it!

Yes Oscar demands pets, although he doesn’t push his head under my hand. He just sits in front of me and puts his head down. Our cat doesn’t understand what he wants when he does it to her. Then he will gradually inch closer to her until he’s sitting underneath her chest, which in turn makes her bolt. They don’t quite speak the same language.

Buddy actually prefers my partner, when he comes back home from work Bud runs to him to greet him, he never does it with me and it of course is me who empties the litter box, refills the watter bottle and does all the feeding, I am just a food and water dispenser in Bud’s eyes Hannah doesn’t trust either of us yet (unless I’ve got dried beetroot), she’s not used to people but I am working on it and I soooo hope she picks me as her human.

You’re so mean!! I don’t want to look at a bowl full of free dandelions!! Only I would pay for dandelion greens at the store in winter ($3 a bunch) but they work on Gracie’s tummy and she’s so little. Do you ever feed the flowers? I fed a lot of them last summer, but now I’m thinking I wasn’t supposed to.

Megabunny, you’re lucky to be able to buy dandelion greens =) It’s not possible here . People would have fits. They spend the whole of the vegetative season trying to eradicate these plants, they’re not likely to go out and pay money to get the stuff into their homes =) So my boys have to go without all winter.

I feed the flowers but not the stems. The flowers are perfectly edible for people too, but you must remove all green parts from the flower. Then you can do dandelion jam or dandelion wine – if you’ve lots and lots of time and patience. Otherwise you,can use the petals in salads.

Edit/Add – They do have good eye sight! Every time I walk near the door, it opens it’s eyes and ‘watches’ me! Pretty cool!  I even went outside to top up the dog’s water and it just looked at me – making sure I kept my distance.
