Hi! I bought Bilbo a litter tray because the bottom of his cage was difficult to clean as it wasn’t smooth, its one if those corner litter trays and he is great with it. I also bought a hay rack to encourage him to use it, however Im not keen on my setup as Bilbo’s eating less hay now, maybe it’s to do with the fact that he has to reach for it! :’)

Does anyone else have a similar setup or can someone suggest something different?

I’ve tried putting hay in the actual litter box but he just sits outside of it and reaches in, doing his business outside. Im stuck for ideas!

Hi Kerryx! I’d suggest using a regular cat litterbox rather than a corner box for bunnies. This is the box I have:
          http://www.petco.com/product/121241/Petco-High-Back-Open-Litter-Pan.aspx?CoreCat=MM_CatSupplies_LitterBoxes

I believe its the large size but anyway it has high enough sides that bun can’t get much hay without hopping in. But he can also laydown or hang out in there if he wants. I used to just throw the hay in the box but he tends to pee on it so I was wasting a lot. I ended up buying a wire bathroom caddy from Target and clipping that to the side of the cage in the litter box. It’s a bit off the floor of the litterbox so not as much hay gets dirty but it’s still at eye level so he doesn’t have to ‘try’ to much. Lazy wabbits Hope this helps!

Oooh thankyou! Im currently waiting for a square cat litter tray to come in the post, hopefully it’ll work well with my current hayrack as.the sides won’t block some of it off like the corner litter tray did! Thanks again!
