        Hi everyone

Twitch has stopped eating recently, she and Lugsy have suspected Pasteurella, and the antibiotics haven’t been working. We’ve got to wait to get them both swabbed and in the mean time we have to give her critical care powder but the issue is that she is really difficult to give it to.

We’ve tried it in a syringe with my fiancé holding her, but she just keeps backing up and getting stressed out, which is what apparently could have caused the pasteurella in the first place…! Arrival of Lugsy I guess. Lugsy has it worse but he’s still eating and drinking ok.

What is the best method you’ve come across to feed bunnies when they stop eating? She’ll only eat mint, so I wonder if we need to use that…

I’m not entirely sure how you would use the mint – maybe put a few drops of the CC on the mint leaves to see if she’ll eat it that way on her own…Don’t put it on every leave though – see if she’ll eat some with and some without the CC on it. Then if she’ll eat it both ways maybe start putting it on more mint leaves.

Some rabbits will eat CC on their own but I suspect Twitch may not do that but then again, have you tried just giving it to her in a bowl?

Yes, we left it in a bowl for her today, but she hasn’t touched it. I got home and gave her a bit of carrot but she wouldn’t eat that either.

Is there a limit to how much mint we should give her if it works only on the leaves?

Just give her as much as she wants as long as she is eating it, that’s what I would do.
