I was just wondering if there is anything else you can use instead of a cat litter tray? & as a bedding, can I put shredded newspaper and paper underneath hay?

I use a metal baking dish and a cardboard box thats taller than the dish to contain poops and hay. Also the cardboard box prevents the rabbit from smacking their legs on on the metal. If you have a rabbit that likes to chew plastic (like mine) it saves a lot of worry of them ingesting to much plastic.

And you can absolutely use newspaper as a liner and shredded newspaper under hay. Thats what I used to use until I discovered Yesterday’s News liter. Its amazing. But if you dont have access to that hay and newspaper is fine.

I was thinking of using a metal baking dish because my bun chews on plastic too, the cardboard box is a good idea too by the way, thanks.

The biggest problem with the cardboard box is that if your bun chews on cardboard it may get destroyed by the end of the week so it can be difficult keeping a supply of cardboard boxes.

Lol, yes. But, I think the cardboard might even encourage them to use the litter box more, no?
