I took my bunny to the vet two weeks ago for having huge puddles of pee. The vet gave him a fluid injection for five days because he had crystals in his bladder. Then his testicles somehow got filled with the fluid so the vet stopped the fluid. After his testicles were back to normal (only took two days) I noticed that he’s been drinking soo much water. I fill his water dish just about to the top in the morning and by the evening it’s almost gone. Then I fill it before I go to bed, and by morning it’s almost gone.

I took him to the vet again and the vet said it might be because of all the fluid and medication he was on (he was on Bayril a few weeks back for something else and on Mexicam for pain from the crystals). He checked another urine sample and said he didn’t see crystals in it but said there’s some kind of debris. He said the excess drinking is probably to flush his system out. He also said just to keep a good watch on him and call back in two days.

My bunny is only a 1 1/2 years old. He’s still eating, pooping, peeing and active, but his pee varies from somewhat big puddles to normal sized puddles and small puddles.

Although the vet said it’s most likely not kidney problems or a stone, I am worried that it’s something life threatening. I don’t know what to think. Has anyone had this problem or have ideas of what it could be?

Did the vet do any bloodwork? I would ask for some bloodwork to see if the kidneys are functioning normally.

My bun drinks about 50-60ml a day average(estimated) and he usually does about 2-3 big wee’s during playtime and has a fair amount of soiled litter(changed every 2nd day) didn’t realise there could be too much wee?

Am currently having this issue with one of my buns, no crystals just excess drinking and peeing (to the point of fur loss). Started a year ago and it went away with medication but reappeared. We did full exam (multiple), pee sticks (multiple), blood work, and x-ray. Nothing found yet but he’s on medication and will be going on Chinese herbs soon too.

I went to the vet last night. My bunny peed on the table so the vet tested it and found nothing, but he said it was very diluted, which is not normal. I’m taking him in tonight for a blood test. I’m so worried. My poor baby :'(
