Help ! so a few days ago , my bunny , dew , sniffed some ant poison from under a chair. it dropped from the table and it landed there. im not very sure if he ate any though his behaviour lately is quite weird. like , he can be wanting cuddles from one moment and then the next moment he wants to run around and play. sometimes he doesn’t even want to come out of his cuddle corner , which is right outside his cage. Also , i’ve been monitoring his poop. i saw some stringy ones. Im not sure if thats due to the poison or him grooming himself. Oh , he has some white eye discharge but he wouldn’t let me clear it and he hopped out to play. currently , hes running about and doing binkys and all. i plan on bringing him to the vets but due to school the earliest i can do so is on friday , and today is tuesday im very worried for him. I want to skip school and bring him to the vets tomorrow but im sure my mom would not let me. What should i do in the meantime ? He’s a male holland lop , is sterilized , has his daily veggies , hay and limited pellets. he’s only about a year old. Help !

What sort of ant bait ? I actually had a situation where someone thought it a good idea to leave a lolly coated with ant bait on someones desk over Xmas as they were on leave… Unfortunately that person came in to work and thought they had been left a treat and ate the Lolly. We checked the MSDS and luckily the bait was no toxic to humans… If you can tell me the type of bait we can look up the Material Safety Data Sheets and find out whats in it… Stringy poop is usuallty related too molting.

if it happened a few days ago, whatever he ingested should be out of his system.
if it was enough to hurt him, i think you would have noticed within hours, not days

I agree Mike….Just be sure to keep him away from anything like it in the future…
As to not wanting cuddles he may just be growing up and excerting some independance.
                How old is he ?
