Ok so I’ve been doing alot of research on young bunnies with poopy bums, and I’m pretty positive it’s not diarrhea. I’ve haven’t given him anything to cause that, and it looks alot like cecotropes. He usually makes them in the early morning. He doesn’t eat all of them though (sometimes he does, but other times I wake up to a ton on cecotropes poos stuck to the floor. Looks like he stepped a few too cause they get squished.) Could these be unformed cecotropes. Right now he is on unlimited Alpha pellets, should I reduce the amount I’m giving him? He has alot stuck on to his bum too, and this morning it was wet & smelly, so I’m assuming those are new. I tried to get them off, but I just made it worse & now its all stuck in the fur.

He is a 10 week old holland lop by the way.

Have you ever taken him to the vet to do a fecal test to test for coccidia? I would recommend that to rule that out.

When babies have a rich diet, sometimes they overproduce cecals. If that is the case, it should resolve itself when your bunny begins transitioning to adult food. Sarita has a good thought though. You want to rule out other causes first.

Ok! He is eating, drinking and peeing. He loves his food! He gets really excited when I put new food out every morning. Haha. I’ll let you guys know how it goes next week.
