Dusty loves his pellets, but I bought a new bag yesterday (same brand, Oxbow Essentials) and fed him and for the past 3 days he has refused to eat one  bite of pellets.  He is eating his veggies (cilantro, mint, Romaine lettuce, basil, parsley, and/or arugula) completely normally and, in fact, seems even more excited for them than usual..  I don’t know what to do.  He only gets 1/8 cup of pellets a day to begin with and I know that, although fattening and having fillers, pellets do have beneifits as well.  If nobody has any suggestions as to how to get him to eat his pellets, does any body know which vegetables I can give him to mimic the benefits of pellets?  Thanks so much and sorry for asking so many questions on this forum- I’m a new bunny owner and everything scares me!

P.S. Dusty turned 1 year old yesterday, could that have anything to do with it?

Normally I might suspect dental problems in an older rabbit – not that a one year old rabbit couldn’t have dental problems. But I don’t think I’d panic. He is most likely getting what he needs from his veggies and hay. I have a 12 year old rabbit that I haven’t given pellets to in well over a couple of years. As long as he has a well rounded diet of greens it will be fine. He probably will eventually go back to eating his pellets at some time too.
