My husband and I are moving into a new house!  The Bunnies are going to have their own room to play in that has a hard wood floor. What can we do to prevent sore hocks from the hard floor since they are use to carpet? What can we do to make the move more comfortable for them since the move is almost 30 mins away (and they hate cars). One last thing are they going to be scared when we put them in there new room for the first time and what can we do to make it better for them? Thanks!

I don’t have advice on what to put down (we have carpet)

But, I’m moving in a month too, and my plan is to keep Lucky in his ex pen the entire time and move him last. I’ll put him in his crate, and move his ex pen and everything, set it up and then let him stay in it for the day until we get mostly unpacked. I’m hoping it won’t be too stressful on him. I think letting them get to know their new surroundings (their new room) for a day or two would be best.

You can put down some of those carpet squares with the finished edges and gripped bottoms. I’m not sure where you buy them from but I know they exist! Or you could just buy some soft but durable doormats and spread them around the room. The idea is to give them something soft for their feet or for resting but still durable enough for them to grip onto and run around.

When we moved we moved my bunny last. I set up his area with his stuff before letting him our of his travel crate. He was fine, but then my bunny takes 3 hr each way car trips pretty often.

You could try rescue remedy, they have a pets one that I’ve used on my dog and bunny before.

Can you put an area rug down?
