Hello!! I have a mini Rex cross bunny who has been spayed and I have a giant continental German bunny who is booked in to be neutered. All I wanted to know is once he’s been neutered and obvs healed can I start bonding them? I’ve read males and females are best to bond I’m just conserned about the size difference?! Thanks kel

Size is usually no problem with bonding

            Hey there!

The size difference definitely isn’t a problem, nor is gender. Some of the cutest couples I have seen are big buns bonded to small ones. Although I hear it’s very typical for the small ones to boss around the big ones, LOL! It’s more about the personalities of the rabbits and how they mesh.

I would love to see a pic of your German bun! I would love one SO badly but they’re only a handful of breeders in the US that breed those! Lucky!

He may be the most handsome bun bun I’ve ever seen….

If he shows up missing… Don’t worry… He’s in good hands!

I ABSOLUTELY WANT ONE!!!!!! What a cute pair they would be!!! You’ll have to fight me for him, Tanlover! Except KB you sound like you’re not from the states. Interesting name. I have cousins w/ the last name Borowiak. Enjoy those bunnies. How big do they expect your Gomez to get?

I’m from the UK I married into the name it is definitely unusual not many borowiaks around well went I went to pick him out I met his mum and dad and they were huge! They were as big as the dog breed “Staffordshire bull terrier” and he’s only about half that size at the moment

That’s incredible. I asked my hubby if I could have one and he said he wouldn’t say no, but when I said I’d take that as a yes, he quickly assured me it wasn’t a yes. Those rabbits are almost scary, I can handle the daily cleaning and massive expenditure to feed them and letting them run around if they aren’t a chewer…but 1/2-1 bale of hay A WEEK? I already feel like I do nothing but keep the stray bits of hay cleaned up around the house, still without 100% success. I’m not sure about this. It wouldn’t be for probably a year or two anyway but WOW! That makes me think of sticking w/ my Giant Chinchillas (I have 1 of those plus a few others.)

All the best to Gomez. I’m so intrigued by that. I’d looked up the breed before and didn’t think they were bred in the states, but looks like there are a few. I’m big on rescues, but this may need to be an exception some day.

He does eat a huge amount of food and hay I clean his poop corner 4-5 times daily he’s forever sneaking off upstairs he loves to chew the floor of the porch and torment the dogs too  but the cuddles he gives are worth it   He’s my first giant bunny I know the live span can be significantly shorter than average bunnys but I’d definitely get another one he acts more like one of the dogs than a bunny!
