On day 9 Peony climbed (not a full jump) over 14 inches of a cube wall into the bathroom. So up to that point it seemed pretty clear she could not jump high and never really did a jumping feat again till 9 days after that.
On day 17, the morning, she had a very peculiar high interest of this comer of my room ( her “pen” basically warps around my bed, Mom does not want her under it) So later that day I was in the kitchen, she was sleeping or something in her pen. After a bit of being in the kitchen, I seen her peaking in. So I say Hello and she hops back to my room (Well her room I guess) and did not think nothing of it. Few minutes later I found her on my bed. I got her down by letting her walk across this cat bridge thing to the second floor of her hutch. After that she kept jumping up on it and kept repeatedly making the bridge to her hutch to get her down. My bed is 23 inches high and pretty much taller then most of her “barriers” and she was able to clear this height on self jumps (Something she never showed before, unlike the bathroom jump, she used the cube to help climb over it)
She took interest of other parts of the house and even after this, my mom went to see if Peony would clear 14 inches to jump in her room while she had a banana. (Same thing she crossed to get in the bathroom) Peony did not follow making it seem like the 14 inch “wall” was stopping her from getting her favorite food. (Peony seems to favor me over my mom, but that does go out the window when it comes to bananas, she ignored my calls to give her a slice since she was so busy trying to get the bigger part.)
So Mom told me to double up the cube wall where she liked to jump. Now a total of 29 inches, Mom watch her jump then climb over the rest of the way to get on my bed(I was out of the room when she did it but heard the noise and came in with her on my bed already, Mom told me the story how it was done.)
So my question is, why did she make such off the wall successful attempts of scaling to get on my bed while 14 inch wall stopped her from going to other high interest areas? (And even once a 14 inch wall stopped her to get a banana) Well and that one time for the bathroom too, the only other time she scaled. one of her 14 inch walls to get somewhere. Well I have a little maze in the back area too, and when I showed her oatmeal, she chose to jump over a 14 inch wall over going around it to run away from it. (No idea why warm oatmeal freaked her out so bad)
Putting her back in her hutch to get down:
*All 14 inch wall remarks refers to making bunny proof walling from cube things.
