Oreo smells horrible I think she must have sat in her litter and her fur absorbed the smell… I no I need to clean her cage more often and I am going to do that. But how do I get this smell off of her right now? Can I use baking soda if I make sure to wash it off? Is there something else I can use like an oil of some sort or something? She is not wet just smelly. Please help she is very unpleasant to be around when so stinky!

Don’t use baking soda, but you can use baby corn starch powder. Here is the article that deals with both the dry and wet methods of cleaning your rabbit’s bottom: http://www.bio.miami.edu/hare/buttbath.html

It is possible that Oreo is smelly because her anal glands need cleaning, so you should check those.  If you don’t feel comfortable cleaning them, your vet could do it.

Is her bottom messy? I think you should check. There’s not a lot you can do besides making sure that there’s nothing stuck to her and providing her a clean environment so she can keep herself clean.

In the cat section at Walmart there is a waterless bath spray. You can use that on her top fur. Not for butts or genitals or in ears/eye area though (exposed membranes). For butt and outer genitals I end up using sensitive skin feminine wash. It is very mild and fragrance free but will remove odor. Just the store brand is fine.

Her butt is clean, Already checked that. I’ve tried a few methods on her already, both cleaned her for a little bit. I cleaned out her cage too and she roams my room almost all day, so she a has clean environment. I also put backing soda under her litter when I cleaned her cage today, but it smells really bad again! I don’t know what to do her pee smells horrible. It,s filling my room stinking her up and what ever she touches even though she is wet no where… If backing soda can’t cover it for about half a day what can? And how can I keep her and every thing else in my room, from smelling like it? Her diet has not changed…but she has eaten a lot of my books not to long ago, and she dose have others things at her reach she could have possible gotten too…could she be reacting to something she eat?

                    Update:
Oreo dose not smell bad anymore on top, just under neath. So I think I should get her one of the corner pans with bars so she can no longer sit in pee, but my room still smells bad, how can I keep her pee smells under control?

Did you check her anal glands as others mentioned? How often do you clean her litter?

Your profile says she isn’t spayed, if she still isn’t, spaying can really help the smell.

What kind of litter do you use? Wood pellets I believe are regarded as the best for odor control. If that’s not an option, scooping out wet litter every day will make a difference.

While I was working crazy around christmas (I’m in retail lol) I had to go a little longer between litter box changes. Some things I did–I hid dryer sheets in their bedding (ONLY do this if you KNOW she will not be able to get to the dryer sheet as some rabbits WILL EAT THEM) and I used a plugin to help mask the smell. I also put apple cider vinegar in their water–some people swear by this, and I really think it works. Just mix a spoonfull or so of apple cider vinegar in with her water. But make sure it doesn’t cause her to stop drinking it. My buns didn’t care lol.

Make sure she hasn’t peed on her blankets or the floor or anything, sometimes they sneak it in and that can cause some bad smells.

I am spot cleaning every day now, but totally dump it and clean the litter pan two or three times a week. She has not peed anywhere else, I know that for sure. What are her anal glands? As for her litter I am using natural small pets bedding, it kind of like small brown balls of paper.

I would clean it out every day to every other day. Completely dump it. Usually you want to clean it enough that they don’t have time to sit in urine. I would try a different more absorbent litter.  A good cheap option is untreated wood stove pellets.  I also put a little hay over my litter which seems to create a barrier between them and their urine.
