Our oldest bunny, Nibbler, got out of his cage and was humping our youngest bunny, Pumpkin, from the front. I grabbed Nibbler off of Pumpkin and checked to make sure he was okay, because last time this happened, he had gotten nipped a little hard and was bleeding but it wasn’t anything serious. I noticed his penis isn’t coming out as far and is extremely red. I thought it was blood at first, but upon taking a damp paper towel to it, I realized it wasn’t blood. He isn’t making any indication that he’s hurt, so I’m not sure if this is something that happens during stimulation for rabbits or if Pumpkin nipped him too hard and did something bad. What are some signs of danger?

How is your bunny now? I’m sorry no one responded to this post sooner.

Front humping is very dangerous because serious injuries can arise if there is biting.

Have you checked the area again? I would definitely watch out for swelling and bruising.
