Moogle and Ashe had to come with me because we don’t have a sitter. Over Thanksgiving I had to spend the entire break trying to nurse Moogle through stress induced stasis… There was no poop for 3 days and his vet visit was the day after he finally recovered. It looks like we are going to have the same problems again. He was nibbling hay this morning, but only has one poop in his box since last night. The vet is not in until Monday. I have semithicone, CC, and syringe on hand. The wierd thing is, he acts fine outside the cage, but still won’t eat. Any suggestions? I really hope he settles in by tonight :S If not, I will be going home a week early to get him back to his house. I just don’t know why he’s so nervous. He’s in a quiet room and I put a blanket partially over one end of the cage. He is in a smaller cage temporarily… But his xpen is permanently set up in my house. So stressed…

t’s difficult to know why they get stressed-out. Sometimes you can’t figure it out, you just have to accept it as a fact and deal with it. Try giving him fresh greens rinsed in water so he gets fluids. Mint is often appreciated as well as other herbs (basil, tarragon, cilantro, parsley). Massage his tummy like for 15 minutes every 2 hours. Serve him small wads of hay throughout the day to increase the chance of him eating it. If he wants a craisin or a tiny tiny piece of milk-chocolate (the size of half of a little-finger-nail), it’s better he has that than nothing at all. Anything to awaken his appetite! If you have fresh pinapple you can try a little piece of that mushed up with pellets + water. Mush like that can be syringe-fed if need be.

I wish you the best of luck. My bunny Bam used to be a nervous boy with a tendency towards stomach-trouble. Luckily he’s been fine since May or so.
