Hello there, I adopted a seven week old holland lop and I dont know what to do with food. I have had experience in the past with rabbits but its been years. I am not sure what the breeder was feeding her but he gave me enough for the next few weeks. I want to get her on something that is going to be best for her.
I was reading about Sherwood forest, how is that?

I don’t know anything about that brand. I don’t believe it is available anywhere where I live. A lot of people use Oxbow, myself included.

I have used Sherwood forest. You can get free samples of their formulas you just pay shipping.I used the baby formula they have for my youngest rabbit. It was alfalfa based. I have also used oxbow. One of my two liked the organic oxbow pellets and the other wouldn’t touch it so I had to find something they both liked. At the moment they seem to like Kaytee timothy hay pellets that are alfalfa free. You want to make sure that whatever you do get that you gradually add it to what the breeder gave you. Also make sure it has plenty of hay as well.

I fed my younger rabbit Oxbow Young Rabbit and transitioned them to Oxbow Essentials Adult as they got older. That said, I think most plain pellets would work out well for a baby bunny. Higher protein and fat won’t hurt a growing rabbit. When they get to be about 7 months you want to transition them to an adult pellet (with lower fat, protein, calcium, ect.) and reduce the amount you feed (babies are free fed).

              I highly recommend checking out:

I feed mine the Oxbow Essentials Adult Timothy pellets as well. I did some research on the nutritional guidelines of a good pellet, and thought it was a good choice
