        Hello there,

I have a year old dwarf who is the love of my life, however she is not quite behaving and my mom is threatening to give her away unless I can fix her bathroom habits. Luna is MOSTLY litter box trained however recently, like the past 2 months, shes been leaving droppings and even sometimes pee directly outside the box (like 1-2 feet out of the box). She has always had the occasion few here and there but this is like majority of her poos are not in the box. So clearly she knows where her box is and where she is supposed to do her business she just prefers the rug.

Another problem I’m having with her is that I think she hates me. I’ve had her for about 6 months now and i don’t think i ever really bonded with her. Since she is mostly litter box trained i let her have free range of the upstairs of my house, which is 2 rooms and a bathroom. She’s supposed to go into her cage to sleep but she doesn’t usually want to so she ends up roaming the upstairs all day and night. Usually when i come home she is under my bed and won’t come out. If i do force her to come out so i can pet her she tries to get away as soon as possible. Should I keep her locked up in her cage all day and only let her out when i am home? How do i bond with her now? What can I do so she will let me pet her?

Any and all help would be greatly appreciated!!

get a larger litter box,, and try to put their favorite on the side against the wall. that way they will have to jump all the way in the box to get to it.
if they can get to it while still sitting outside, they will contently drop bombs outside the entire time they are munching.
i think you should get some NIC grids or lower-height x pens and build some walls to keep her out of all the hiding spots. no bunny needs to have access to the underside of a bed. i wouldn’t recommend giving free roam at nite while you are sleeping. there is no way to monitor her if she gets into trouble
