Last Friday, the love of my life left me for the rainbow bridge.

Bella was sitting with me on the couch watching TV when she suddenly started screaming and flailing. I laid her down on the floor and she twitched for about 5 seconds and then was gone. That was it. She went from being perfectly fine to having passed in about 10 seconds. I am still shocked.

When she came to me, she was in a cage the size of her. Her previous owners thought she was evil, but I did research about it, got her spayed, and made her a bigger cage. She then became the sweet bunny I knew her as. Whenever I would come into the room, she would run out and kiss me, and do crazy bunny dances around my legs. I became her slave, and I never went a single day without telling someone about my bunny, Bella. She was a spazzy, crazy, diva, picky, sweet little bunny and I love her so much.

Bella was my first bunny and my best friend. She taught me proper rabbit care, she taught me love, she taught me that even though you have been through bad things, you can live again, you can love again. Because of her, I am a better person. I will always remember her and always love her. She left paw prints on my heart, and I could never replace her.

(((((Binky free my sweet baby girl))))) I will love you forever, and can’t wait to see you again at the rainbow bridge. Enjoy yourself up there, and snuggle with stripe(my late guinea pig)

              Oh I’m sorry!
I was thinking of you yesterday and wondering as I couldn’t find an update on Bella.

Sending big (((Hugs))) to you and nose rubs to Lionel.
I wish I could do more for you. I know this is a time of pain, confusion and heart break.

Thank you for loving her right! You got the reward of seeing just all she could be by understanding her and her needs. Beautiful, sassy but tempered with sweetness. Binky Free Bella !

I feel so much for you LEL. PM me any hour if you need to talk.

Oh LEL – bugga, I’m crying! (thankfully I’m home alone and don’t have to hide my tears). I am so sorry, I know your heart is broken! I hope this isn’t too early to say this, but what got me through was knowing I gave my pet the best life ever (in my mind, no one is better than me! when it came to my pets). Bella wasn’t just loved but adored (& I know this from your posts!). Even when you can start to mend your heart, there will be that tiny bit missing that Bella took to heaven with her, and no matter what you find to try and replace it (to make your heart whole again) you’ll feel the difference – it won’t be the same, so you’ll always remember her. Shedding tears for Bella – but mostly you! Your feeling the pain…..  (Bella is at peace).

Oh LEL my condolences for your loss of beautiful Bella – she had a great bunparent who learned her personality and took the time to learn how to give her proper care and gave her a great home. She will be missed (((binky free Bella))) <3

So sorry for your loss. You’ll see her again someday though, so until then just remember all of the good times you shared with each other. RIP Bella.

I am sorry that you lost Bella I lost a bunny suddenly awhile back. I think it is even harder when they are there one day, and you don’t even see it coming. I lost my best friend (a 17 year old cat I had since I was 5) and that seemed easier to accept because he was aging, and not in the best health. If you need to talk I am here. Feel free to PM. I know I don’t post much but I’m on every day. I just don’t sign in unless I feel the need to put in my two cents.

Thanks everybody for your kind words. Bella is a special bunny and I really miss her.
I Buried her in a nice oak barrel with her favorite chew toy, a carrot, some lettuce, a note, her Christmas stocking, and some cheerios(she had a secret love of cheerios after I accidently dropped one on the floor, but she only got one that once.) I planted some flowers in the pot, and put a plaque that is printed with the legend of the rainbow bridge and “binky free Bella” She is at peace now.

Hi Amanda I’m so sorry to read about Bella. You were a great bunny-mum and she was lucky to have you. It must have been hard to lose her so suddenly like that. I had a long time to prepare myself to lose Sophie but it still hurts so much. Thank you for your nice words about her. I wrapped her in a nice towel and also included nibbles, hay, parsley, carrot, lettuce and a note like you.

Bunnies are so giving and forgiving. Sophie was also my first and my best friend. She also taught me and gave me so much. I hope her and Bella are playing together.

I’m so sorry for your loss, that is a truly awful experience for you. It sounds like you loved her and gave her everything she could have wanted, and likewise that she loved you very much. I hope that you can hold on to those fun, happy memories that Bella gave you. When my Shredder died we did have a necropsy done and it did give us peace of mind to know what it was that he couldn’t fight through, I’m not sure if it would help you or not but know it is an option.

                                        Sending hugs your way.

My baby passed back in December, so I don’t think a necropsy would be a good idea. I considered it back then but I just wanted to leave her in her perfect state.
Even though it has been a while it still hurts, thanks for the kind words. I know Bella, Sophie, Shredder, as well as Jerseygirl’s Jersey are all playing at the rainbow bridge.
