I’m really bad at telling rabbit behavior, but lately shes been marking places a lot more than usual, near my shoes, computer chair, and most of all, my bed. She made a huge pee pile, I’m shocked… she only did that once when I was trying to litter train her, and that was since May, then she hops around all excited after that, making honking noises unstoppably.

Right now shes seeking my attention non stop, and she grunts and thumps when I stop petting her.

Is this normal rabbit behavior? shes only been doing it the last couple of days,And her litter habits seem to have been diminished.

          Is she spayed?
          This is hormonal behaviour

I have been nervous getting to it, I just seen so many story’s of rabbits dying during their spay. I feel as I must procrastinate constantly.

There’s no other rabbits around though, do they really do the same things even if their the only rabbit in the house?

Right now shes near my feet circling and honking, not sure if me being a guy has anything to do with it, but is there any way to calm her down?

I understand, everyone gets nervous about getting a spay. Mine had hers yesterday! :/
But, as I’m sure you know, it really is vital that you get her spayed, otherwise she has an 80% chance of developing cancer. Try not to be too nervous, find the best possible vet who you trust.

And yes, they do display hormonal behaviours with no other rabbits around.

As for you being a guy, and this affect on their hormones, I’ve heard a few different things about that. Some people say that it can make a difference, personally I’m not convinced that it does! But see what others think

Definitely sounds like hormonal behavior. And no, no other rabbits need to be around for your bun to go crazy. It’s just what happens when they hit puberty. I don’t think a person’s gender necessarily has anything to do with it, but bunnies will definitely select a “love interest”.

I’m having a similar problem with my male. He hasn’t been fixed yet. I think they like marking on the bed a lot because it has your scent on it. He’s “marked” it 3x already! I haven’t had the honking, grunting or thumping. Yet. But he does do circles around me when I’m standing. If I talk to him in a baby voice while he’s doing this he’ll binky. lol!! It’s super cute, but he has started to attack (I think) my boyfriend and his shoes. Funny for me to watch, not so fun for him.

My bunny just started doing this to me too. I’ve had her for about 3 1/2 weeks. She’s about 2 1/2 years old and isn’t spayed (she’s the only pet in my house)… when she’s up on the couch next to me, she walks around me and thumps/grunts until I start petting her and then it stops, haha. She licks the couch pillows, marks everything with her chin…

But I have the same problem as Calmknight, I almost feel bad when it comes to spaying her, she’s the only rabbit here and it seems crazy to do a risky surgery just for behavior benefits (and she’s sweet, just a little sassy sometimes!)

Hey Haley, this discussion is old. You should start a new thread about your problem and you’ll get more and better answers.
