So my bunny is really smart and acrobatic. He climbs a lot of things and gets into food that he shouldn’t. Hes eaten cat food, and excessive amount of cabbage, chip scraps. I’ve been reading and it sounds like some things cant be processed or have vitamins they can’t handle. I don’t want him to get a blockage or anything. So I just wanna make sure all the bad things he has gotten into will pass through eventually and not just build up in his tummy.

He eats plenty of hay and cilantro

Also the things he gets into are amazing feats. There shouldn’t be anyway for him to get on top of a desk but some how does it. So its not like Im leaving things on the floor.

Cat food isn’t good for them but if it’s been a long time since he ate it, it has been converted to poop by now. The nutrition in the cat food has probably not been of any value whatsoever to him, because a cat’s nutritional needs and a rabbit’s are very, very different. It is potentially a health-hazard, so please, put the cat-food where your bunny absolutely can’t get to it!

Cabbage can be quite ok for bunnies, my bunnies eat cabbage almost every day. I read it’s a myth that white cabbage causes gas i bunnies, it’s a misunderstanding due to the fact that it causes gas in humans. But humans and rabbits are different digestion-wise.

Lots of hay is the best thing for a bunny-tummy and can compensate for bad food to some extent. As a rule, rabbits have sensitive stomachs, but some rabbits have “sturdier” stomachs than others. I have one who can eat just about anything and one who can’t have anything sweet or his tummy flips out.

Some bunnies have amazing capabilities when it comes to get into small spaces and high places and places where there is any type of edible stuff. I have one bunny like that, luckily he’s the one with the tough stomach. Maybe it’s connected, an adventurous mind and a sturdy stomach =)

Bam – be honest! Your “dog” eats the cabbage every day, lol!
Hi LumpLumps! As horrifying as this will sound – I’ve caught my boy eating the dry dog food, his way of telling me he’s not happy that I reduced his pellet portion. As Bam said, it’s no good, but a small amount won’t hurt, Henry is ‘living’ proof of that. Um, the only concern I would have – you mentioned chip scrap? If you mean raw potato’s (making chips) that is a no no! My bun is worse than my kids as toddlers – so as annoying as it is, till he learns (yer right???) put everything safely away. Good luck!

The most important thing is to keep an eye on them for the next day or two. If he is eating and pooping, then he’ll probably be ok. After that, you’re out of the woods. Things don’t really build up in their tummies forever – eventually it will break down and pass through. If it doesn’t, it will cause a problem quickly within a day or two.

LumpLump: Sorry, I misinterpreted your post, I thought you meant that your rabbit eats inappropriate things all the time,

Do as Elrowhen says and keep an eye on his droppings and general demeanour these next few days, if you notice sth out of the ordinary, please write the forum again for further advice.
