Someone, Please help. I have a holland lop rabbit. He is not quite two.

He was totally fine last night, eating and all, but this morning he was super lethargic and didn’t want to eat. I’m really worried because he is usually SO enthusiastic about food( He is quite chubby).

Its night now and by tomorrow morning he will have not have eaten for 24 hours. What do I do!

Please help if you have any suggestions for in the meantime.

I suggest you take a couple of minutes and read the information on this page: https://www.binkybunny.com/FORUM/tabid/54/a… It should help you get an idea of what the problem is and the best way to deal with it.

Two important things to keep in mind are: if he hasn’t been drinking you need to get water into him ASAP! Use a syringe and make sure he is being hydrated. The second is that a sick rabbit often loses body heat. While you don’t want to overheat him he needs to stay warm. one of the simplest and easiest ways to do this is to wrap him loosely in a towel and hold him in your lap, sharing your body heat. (and also giving him comfort and reassurance, which can be as important as the other measures needed.) Second best would be a hot water bottle that he can lie as close to or far away from as he needs to. (I put mine in a cardboard box.)

Please checkout the page and then let us know if you need more help.

Jesse, Is it possible to get him to a vet immediately or at least first thing in the morning..
That would be the wisest course of action..
Grey Dove is quite correct in advising fluids etc in the interim until you can get him treatment.
Mean while has your bunny pooped and peed, is his tummy bloated and hard ?

I couldn’t get the link Grey dove. I syringe fed Jonah some water. I also got him to eat a little bit of cilantro and a few pieces of hay.He also seems to have pooped a little. It’s defiantly not much but I guess it’s progress. I there anything else I can do. I still can’t get that link but I am very interest in reading it. If anyone knows what link it is please send it again. Thanks for the advise Grey dove

It’s crazy! This morning he was almost totall back to normal. Waiting at the door of his pen/cage wanting to get food. He ate all his pellets and ate the veggies I gave him. I’m going to hold of on the vet because right now he seems to be bouncing back pretty fast. I’ll keep an eye on him to make sure he dosnt get worse. Thanks to everyone for the suggestions.
