my bunny is 3 and hes a boy. he was the runt of the litter so hes a little on the small side. hes about 2-3 pounds and maybe 30 cm long. he lives inside in a cage but has free time to run around the basement every weekday from 4pm-9pm and then hes free all weekend from morning to night. he has unlimited hay and water and gets 1/8 cup of pellets every night when he goes back into his cage. he loves his pellets and eats them super fast and hes a pretty good hay eater. when i pick him up i can feel every single bone… i can even like stick my fingers between his shoulder bones because sometimes i can feel them bulge out. his bones are not visible when hes just sitting and running, i can only feel them when i pick him up. im not starving him or anything and he gets lots of veggies every morning and a treat every few days. is it normal to be able to feel all his bones? should i start feeding him more pellets to fatten him up ? when i feel him tummy it bulges out a bit, so its not like hes starving.

Totally normal If you couldn’t feel bones, he would be overweight

You should expect to feel some bones. That’s just how they are built.

That does sound pretty normal, but if you’re still concerned, your best bet would be a hands-on exam at your vet.
