When does he nip you – is it when you are reaching into his enclosure? Or does he just run up and nip and bite?

He sounds like a handful. Some people say make a loud yelping noise when they nip you – frankly that has never worked for me and I feel stupid yelping – of course sometimes you will just naturally yelp because those little teeth hurt.

I imagine that is how he seeks attention – what I have done with nippers is when they come up to me before they can nip I try to talk and pet (from the side so he can see your hand) – hoping that this will calm them down.

I do find Netherlands to be somewhat higher strung too than larger breeds. Not in a bad way but I guess they act this way due to their very small size.

It may also be that he is reaching puberty and that neutering will help calm him down a bit. Also he is adjusting to a new environment so that can be overwhelming too.

Thanks his last owner kept him 3weeks due to biting so I want to persevere and make him comfortable and loved but also don’t want him to bite the kids they know the rules about new bunnies and they are not allowed to handle the bunnies unsupervised until I am happy but would like to break him of the biting, he can’t be done as his bits aren’t dropped yet

I know many times baby rabbits bite because that his how they explore – it’s been a very long time since I’ve had a baby rabbit too. I had adult nippers though.

It would seem odd that a small baby (8 weeks old) was such a nipper – makes me think he was in a home with an inexperienced rabbit owner…which means it could take some time for him to trust you too. Maybe the other home were grabbers or something.

That’s what I thought I wanted to make sure he has a loving home , he is such a cutie and I will do what it takes. Thanks
