My 6 month old rabbit doesnt seem to take to any of the toys I give him: he isnt keen on treat-chews, cardboad tubes, doesn’t chew his tunnel… any ideas for toys? I’m worried that if he doesnt chew enough, dental problems could arise.

If he is eating hay that is what is going to keep his molars healthy not chew toys. Chew toys are to help with boredom.

Is he good with eating hay?

He eats hay fine. I think he should be playing more but he is not interested in some of the toys I’ve given him :/

My bun also is not a chewer. Basically all he will touch is a paper towel roll (even toilet paper rolls are no good).I bought him wood chews, grass mats/balls, willow, apple branches and all different size boxes. He could care less about them. He did try to chew my sons sippy cup but not sure how I feel about giving him plastic. I have been hiding his food in cardboard to keep him busy so if you need boredom busters look for DIY toys on YouTube. I figure in the wild they don’t sit there munching cardboard so I wouldn’t stress about it.

Lots of bunnies don’t really “play”. Many are very zen and prefer to sit around, explore a little, and eat hay. Like Sarita said, hay is the important part for wearing down teeth, not chew toys.

If you’re looking for more entertainment for him, mine enjoy cardboard boxes more than anything else. They can sleep in them, jump up on them, and dig in them.

                  Thanks for all the responses!

Hmm, I should be thankfull that he doesnt chew as I suspect some chewers destroy the furniture, cables and make some noise lol! At least he likes hopping around the house and exploring.

I’ll place some cereal boxes in his pen and see what happens – thanks for the suggestion.
