Hi guys. we were looking into litter box options and were wondering if anyone has any favorites for a small bunny ?  It needs to be short enough for her to hop into easily, but big enough for her to turn around in. Currently we are using a short Tupperware container for Penelope’s litter box. It is short enough that she can hop into it with no problem (approx. 3.5 inches tall), but is too small for her to turn around in. We would also like to find one with a screen to keep her from sitting in her soiled litter. We tried a cat litter box, but it was too high for her to hop into and out of comfortably. She would get her back legs caught on the edge when hopping out. Any suggestions would be appreciated

Hi. I use Marshall Ferret Litter Pans. I tried to put the direct link to the page but it didn’t work. I bought them off of Amazon. They are low step in and high sides. they work great. They can lock in place but I don’t use that part. Hope that helps!

I have seen those on a few sites. How big are they? It is hard to judge by the photos, without a bun actually in them! I guess I could just break out the measuring tape if I can find it. I am hopeless with measurements otherwise haha.

It says they are 14 x 12 x 7 inches with a 2 inch lip. I am using these as litter boxes and love them. They are 20″L x 15″W x 5″D but might be too high for a dwarf – http://www.cabelas.com/product/Home…t104344380

Thanks for the info. She is a Holland lop, is still young and isn’t to keen about the high jumps yet  That might be a bit high for her comfort. I will look at them at our local pet store and see.

I am not quite sure of the measurements its not quite 14 inches across. I have a netherland dwarf rabbit and as you can see he fits in it pretty good. My other is a lot smaller than him its really big for her. Hope the picture helps

I use the litter boxes that BB sells:
                    http://store.binkybunny.com/litter-box—large-p182.aspx
The brand is Petmate Litterbox with Microban®

I love them because they are heavy duty/sturdy and a good size.

Here’s my 9.5lb Monty snoozing in one:

So i went litter box shopping today and was really unsatisfied with the choices that our local pet stores had. After three stores we ended up at “a big box store”  looking at heavy duty plastic tubs. I found this one for 6.00 and decided to give it a try even though I thought it might be too tall. My tricky bunny hopped right into it once she realized that I had put her new orchard grass into it! I had just offered her some and she loved it (the timothy hay was kicking up my allergies something fierce!). I guess her timothy hay just wasn’t enticing enough to get her into the cat box   I apologize for the photo quality I have been having issues with compressing my photo files to a size that can be uploaded without losing image quality.
