Jacks poops have gotten a ton better, he’s no longer having discharge of his nose or eyes, he’s eating and drinking normally and he finishes his last antibiotic dose tomorrow. But, he still seems pretty bloated.

His tummy isn’t hard or anything, but it’s very round and there’s definitely air in there. I gave him Mylicon drops today but he absolutely hated them and it really seemed to not make any difference. I’ve done tummy massages and vibration but (though he likes it) his round bubble of a tum remains. I’m wondering if probiotics are the answer or higher amounts of mylicon…

Like I said, he’s still eating, drinking and pooing so it’s not awful. Maybe I’m just being a worrier. His last dose of meds is tomorrow, perhaps things will get better after that.

Well probiotics helped Pippin when I was ready to give up. Also eliminating or reducing greens each day really helped.

He was on Metronidazole, Enrofloxacin, Metoclopramide, and a pain killer. Today was his last dose.

You could talk to your vet about probiotics. My vet usually reccommends Benebac during or after treatments with meds, especially antibiotics. Meds can wreak havoc on the delicate GI flora.

I know you mentioned he was diagnosed with Clostridium and that is what is wreaking havoc on his gi tract. I don’t know if probiotics or gas drops are the answer for his particular problem…since he is on medication and being treated by the vet I would discuss this with your vet.

I would suggest that you see if the vet can do another fecal test to see if there is still clostridium present.

I actually think it was some edible flowers that the bunnies had in their salad the other day. It was the first time Jack had tried these. He ate one and didn’t eat any others. That’s usually a good sign that it wasn’t a favorite. He had no flowers (or any other greens) yesterday and he’s happy as a clam today.
