        Hi everybody,

how often should I change and replace the pellets.  It is not his favorite thing to eat, but he does eat them.  What I am asking is that it often is a couple of days before he is almost done with pellets. Should I replace them every day (that seems expensive) or can I leave the for a few days.  He is always eating.  We started giving him carrot tops which he LOVES. And he eats his hay.  Any advice is appreciated.

How old is he and how much are you giving him?

He is 3 months and weighs about 2 lbs. I give him 1/3 of a cup when I see it low or when I clean up his litter and stuff. About 3 times a week.

At that age, he should be getting “unlimited” pellets. It sounds like he likes his hay, which is good. If he isn’t eating a ton of pellets, then it’s okay for him to take a day or two to finish them. It won’t hurt the pellets any. I just wouldn’t fill the bowl to the top and expect him to eat it all in a reasonable amount of time. Just give him what you know he will eat.

What kind of pellets are they? Have you ever had his teeth checked?  I’m surprised he dislikes them, most rabbits will over eat pellets if allowed.
