I just bought Rufus a Snugglesafe cooling mat and it arrived yesterday. It’s a plastic mat with a kind of gel inside that cools right down when you put weight on it. I was designed for rabbits and is advertised as being bite resistant but also non-toxic if the gel is somehow eaten. I tried it out in my pillow last night and it’s amazing!

For now, I’m planning on using it for supervised time only and seeing how he does with it and whether he chews on it. It would be great if at some point I can leave him with it during the day while I’m at work as that is when it’s hottest. The frozen bottle I leave him with just aren’t lasting long enough. Just wondering if anyone else has any experience with these? Or any tips that might come in useful?

I have used these in the past but I think mine are slightly different because mine are warm pads. Used them for elderly guinea pigs in the winter and loved them. I will have to check out the cooling mats!
