Here in Georgia, it’s starting to get colder, and I live in a very poorly insulated house. We have little to no heat in the wintertime. I am worried about Nellie being cold during the winter. Are there ways to make sure she stays warm and comfy?

Bunnies tolerate cold well, but they do like so be cozy, what I do for mine is make a grid hut, cover it with some fleeces, and fill it with cozy things like fleeces, warm water bottles, and flat dog beds. My bunnies love to cuddle in the house and groom each other.

When I was a teen, our bunnies lived on the open porch in a hutch all winter long in New Jersey. If you can stand to live in you house at all, it is down right cozy by bunny standards.

Be more concerned about AC next spring.

Bunnies tolerate cold well and if you are able to live in the house, she’ll be fine. Just make sure she has a place to sleep away from drafts (open windows, outside doors, etc). I think humans are generally much more sensitive to cold than rabbits. Our house is often around 55 degrees and visitors always complain, but the buns don’t mind.
