I’m sure  this has been addressed somewhere on the forum at some point but I have a few questions regarding vegetables and fruit.  I have done some research and from everything I have read it has been adviced to not give your young bun any vegetables until they are older due to digestive issues that could arise.

So my first question is: when should you introduce veggies?  When they sre a year old? Six months?  Right now Annabel is three, almost four, months old and is only eating pellets and timothy hay.

My second question is: which veggies do you avoid?  As far as I know its iceberg lettuce, cucumbers, corn, potato, beans, tomatoes, eggplants.  Are there other veggies to look out for?

And my last question: how often do you give your bun fruit?  Once a week? Every other day?

With observing my frenchie here, I’ve noticed quickly that she is a food hound so I want to make sure I lay out a good diet for her in the future to avoid obesity.   Frankly, if it was left up to her, she would go for the world record. Lol

Please read that and another note, only introduce one veggie at a time and very little at a time to see how ur bun handles that particular veggie. I started trying to introduce veggies to Sally when she was 3 months old. But she wouldn’t even try them until 5 months.

Veggies can be introduced at 12 weeks.

It’s very important to introduce new foods slowly and gradually.  Only introduce one at a time so if you have a bunny who has a sensitive tummy you will know what is causing the upset and can remove it from her diet.

Fruit is high in sugar so it should only be used as a treat.  Some people give it every day (very small portions) and some people only once or twice a week.  Kind of up to you.
